Need advice about thermal grease: Artice Silver or white paste?
I need some advice about thermal grease. I got this fan/heatsink
http://www.thermaltake.com/products.../spark7plus.htm It came with some white thermal paste but should I use it or get some other kind of paste? The white paste is silicone compound. Maybe I should use it, or can artic silver be used on a copper heatsink? I dunno. |

You can use either. The Arctic Silver is supposed to provide better heat transfer than the silicone paste, but if you aren't going to be overclocking (or just very little), the silicone is fine.

Go ahead and use the white silicone compound since you already have it. Arctic Silver is good stuff, but you won't see that much of a difference in CPU temps...maybe 2 to 4 degrees C.
