Question Strange Noise

Recently my computer has been makeing a strange noise. It kinda sounds like when the computer is first turned on and the BIOS are finished loading like 2 short clicks. It is happening now randomly when the computer is on and I have no idea where its comming from or what it means. Does anyone have any advise?

Is your comp having any other problems? I have noticed that once in awhile my comp will make a random click sound, or a sound like something is being switched off or on, but it has never caused any trouble. Some of this could just be your power saving options doing their thing. If you aren't having any other trouble, and the noise is random and not at all loud, I wouldn't worry about it.

The only thing I can say is that a while back the computer would make this sound and restart. It doesnt do it now though and I am retty sure it was caused by the computer getting too hot. Ive since installed fans so it will not overheat.

My computer does that randomly too. I have never figured out what it was or where it comes from but it has never affected the performance or caused any other problems. I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine click like that every so often, but it's because I have the power saving options set to shut down the hard drives after 30 mins. of non-activity. The click is the actuators returning the read heads to the idle position.
