I went into the store the other day to get some rubbing alcohol for cleaning off thermal compounds. Now, I never saw this before, but now there seem to be 2 difference concentrations. Which would be better to use?
btw, I picked up the 90% thinking the more alcohol and less water, the better.

Yeah, the 90% is better. The 70% is rubbing alcohol that has other oils and stuff in it you don't want on things you're trying to clean. The purer alcohol the better. When I built my brother's computer, I couldn't find the 90% anywhere around here, so that's why I went with acetone.

90% is the best as it will not leave a resdue when it dries. it can be found a most any drug store.

i had trouble finding 98% my druggest suggested getting everclear at the licquor store said it was 95% and it worked fine and was cheaper.

Denatured alcohol is also a good choice. It's marketed as a solvent (unlike rubbing alchol which is used for massages...I think).

I never have problem finding IPA, of course it helps working in a paint factory.
