Mouse and Keyboard Trouble
Hi everyone,
I was lowering my bed the other night and it accidentally catch on to both my mouse and keyboard adaptor thing in the back of my tower on the way down. The plugs (on my tower) for both those things are really sensitive now. I have to twist and tweak it around serveral times before my mouse and keyboard works. After which, if I touch the table of move my tower some how it gets out wack and doesnt work anymore. Is there anyway to just replace the adaptor? I was told that I would have to replace the entire motherboard ( I just got the thing about 6 months ago and everything works fine besides the mouse and keyboard plug) -nothing is loose, unattached or seems out of place what am I to do?! |

You said that nothing was loose, but check the actual plugs that the keyboard and mouse plug into. Make sure that they do not move at all. Also, if you have another mouse and keyboard I would check it with a new mouse and keyboard. If it is the plugs on the MB, I think that you may have to replace the board. If you dont want to do that, invest in a USB mouse and keyboard. I would do that before you replace the motherboard. I doubt if Epox would RMA the board due to your situation. The cheapest solution would be to buy the USB mouse and keyboard and don't use the PS/2 ports. You may have to enable USB support in the BIOS to enter the BIOS or enter Safe Mode with the USB keyboard.
