Need help...please!
Hi guys,
everything is installed - I am going to fire up tmy rig tonight.. Quick question: on the 60 GB drive (for OS and programs only) - how big should the partition for the OS be? I was thinking about 10 GB? Should I make more then one partition? If so- how many and how big? The same Q for my 250 GB data HD (I was thinking of at least 3 (Family, business and video editing) - any advice? Thanks again, hansmann

I've heard anywhere from 8-15GB for the OS partition. Keep it clean tho, with all program installs going on the other partition(s) of that drive. Your other drive sounds good. Whatever works to keep you organized. Just remember, video editing can create large file sizes and eat tons of space, so you may want that particular partition to be much larger than the others. Good luck.

I run XP Pro and have it on a 10G partition. I also use that partition to load drivers and such. Currently 4.5G is used so I wouldn't go over 10G, 8G would probably be enough.

8 gigs would be fine, you could even get away with 6 gigs, but keep it 8 just to be safe.
the other 3 partitions sound fine. good luck!
