about dual ram on p4p800

ok this is about dual ram. i know theres a post about ram but couldn't really find what i need to know. ok first off, i have asus P4P800 mobo, 2.6 cpu. to get dual channel to work for this mother board u need 2 identical sticks of ram. which i do, but then i got 2 more sticks of identical ram, but they aren't identical to the first 2. the only difference between the first set of ram and the second set is the chips on them. they r all kingston value ram 256mb pc3200 cl3.

so.. ya i'm not good at explain... so here is a run down.

first set of ram: kingston value ram 256mb pc3200 cl3 " they say kingston on the chips"

second set of ram: kingston value ram 256mb pc3200 cl3 "they say samsum on the chips"

so i'm just wondering, would my mother board still be running at dual channel? and is there anyway to check if it's running at dual channel.

THANKS. hope this isn't to confusing..

I think you're fine as far as the different memory modules are concerned.

What does the first boot screen say? I know on Intel motherboards they'll tell you if Dual Channel DDR is enabled or not in the first boot screen. If yours doesn't, take a look in BIOS...might say something in there.

hmmm i don't think my mobo tells me on the first boot up screen that it's running dual ram. i'ved asked someone if it's suposed to say it or not, and they told me no, but that might still be wrong. when i'd only have the first set of ram in, it never told me.

Your two sticks of ram are installed in the two "blue slots" or in the two "black" slots, right?

I have a P4C800, its mostly the same - If you want it Dual Channel it should Look like this in the mobo:
k=kingston s=samsung

k1/s1 k2/s2 so blue and blue match up, etc.
At startup when you see the black screen and it says you processor info, etc. it should say your RAM, MHz and Either Linear or Dual Channel.

and my set up for the ram is
k=kingston s=samsung

k1/s1 k2/s2 so blue and blue match up
