Sony DVD Burner Problems
Hi All
I’ve got a Sony DVD RW DRU-500A. It was working fine up until a week ago. I have number of DVDs, and planned to play them through my 500A. The first DVD was not recognized. Moved the DVD to another DVD ROM on the same PC…worked fine. Inserted another DVD into the 500A, worked fine. It appears that some play, some will not. Next I tried to record to the 500A. It was not recognized by either NERO or RECORD NOW. Tried different DVD brands… same result. Any suggestions on further troubleshooting to isolate problem? Thanks Palladrj |

interesting I have the same drive and no problems yet.
does it still show up in mycomputer, and device manager ? |

You might try updating your firmware. Sony just released a new revision recently

More Info...
It will recognize and record CDs, but mot DVDs. Any ideas? |
