oversized mouse pointer refuses to get smaller
Hi all, I have a problem with the mouse pointer in windows xp. I was changing the dpi size a couple of days ago and the mouse pointer decided to enlarge along with everything else. The problem with that is the pointer is gigantic. I was wondering if there is a way to get it to reduce in size. I tried mouse properties and selecting the standard windows pointer, and it changed to a standard pointer but it's still gigantic. I also went to system restore and restored to an earlier date. The dpi returned to it's original size but the pointer did not. My monitor resolution is set at 1280x1024 and the dpi is at 144 or 150 percent of normal. Any suggestions?

I know that in Microsoft, that you can go into their "driver software" or whatever software that comes with mouse and change the shape/color/size of it.
Otherwise, go to Control Panel, go to Mouse, and change it in the pointed options. Generally, I haven't encountered much problems with Resolution changing that changes the size of the mouse significantly. Tell me if that works - I'm trying to give directions from a 98SE, so... Hope that helps, kram

Hey kram, thanks for the info. What I did was changed the DPI back to 100% and rebooted, all images on the screen went back to their normal size except the pointer. It's very strange, but I went ahead and did a system restore to an even earlier date and that brought the pointer back to a size which is similar to all things on the screen. I then increased the DPI to where I want it, and the pointer followed suit without becoming extra huge. I don't know what caused the problem but it's fine now. Thanks for your help......
