How would the 64 bit processors (presuming there was 64bit software everywhere) compare in speeds to the current 32 bit bit processors.. eg 'like a 5ghz p4'
also, is it right to say the 64 amds are faster working in 32bit than their equivilant 32 bit models (eg a 64 bit 3200 is faster than a 3200+ athlon XP, in 32bit software).. if so how much faster.. what new thigs would 64 bit speeds allow for a regular user? (other than it would do everthing that bit faster) eg we had computers that did word processing, then for the internet computers had to be faster, then mp3s, then video editing..whats next? i would say newer games would need it, but aren't the graphics cards the things which need to be improved more than the processors?.. when is intel bringing out a 64 bit processor? when will it likely be mainstream?.. and 64 bit windows? when 64 bit does become the mainstream.. will 32 bit processors have a quick drop in prices or is that likely not to happen.. and will 32 bit processors become obselete (in the mainstream not just 'pc-people') in the forseeable future? isn't it going to cause problems for software makers like game producers, would they release separte software (eg games) in both 64 bit and 32 bit? or is it only windows that would have to be 64 bit to get all software running at 64 bit? when are games etc likely to stop being made in 32 bit? or is that not likely to happen for 5-10 years?.. i mean it would make every pc made up to now useless also, when is BTX coming in with pciX and DDR2? .. these last ones wont be any more expensive (than ATX motherboards) when they are released will they? |
