What would be a good mouse...

i'd like it to be..

wireless, optical, light-weight, short charge time/ long time inbetween charges, and have a scroll wheel, also be good quality and comfortable!, plus obviously good value

I don't know about good value but the logitech mx700 is one of the best out there. I got the logitech mx duo as gift last X-mas

I also like the MX700 although at first the weight takes a little bit to get used to but before long you won't even notice it.

the mx 700 also gets my vote but if you get it dont install the drivrs theres only one button that won't work and its pretty useless

I would say also the MX700 or the microsoft wireless intelliMouse explorer. Thats what I have, I love it. It seems to have everything the MX700 has, except for the re-charable batteries. It says that they will last for 6 mounths but I doubt that. The mouse is great though, its very smooth, feels custom fit to my hand and I love all the extra buttons.

whats the 'Tilt Wheel' like on the MS mouse? and which is the cheapest (logitech or MS)

does the MX700 use AA rechargeable batteries.. (if so 1 or 2) or its own rechargeable 'fixed' battery... i presume this means the logitech has a recharging cradle and the MS mouse doesn't?

The MX700 does kinda act like a Tilt Wheel in the sense that when a window can scroll left/right, the standard 4-arrow pointer will come up with a "click" of the scroll wheel.

My hands are somewhat large and consequently I prefer a larger mouse. I have a Logitech Mouse Man that I like fairly well, but the mouse I have on this machine took some shopping and "feeling" to find. It's a Kensington Pilot Mouse Optical Wireless. 4 button plus the scroll and a great ergonomic feel. Both sides have cushioned rubber pads and the angle of the top buttons is somewhat different from most mouses (mice?) I tried. Bought this one at Circuit City. It's also a little less espensive than the mx700.

MX 700, I dont use the drivers. Once you get use to it, it is a sweet mouse.

The wireless receiver for the MX700 is also the charging cradle, just set the mouse in it.

i like the microsoft wireless optical mouse 2.0. very good performance and battery life. you dont need a charging cradle with this mouse because it lasts 6 months for its battery life.

ok what would be a good mouse a little cheaper than the MX700 (still with all the features in my 1st post)
i dont think i need more than 5 buttons lol.. but the 'forward/back' button thing seems a good idea..

i also read that in previous (top line) Ms mice the buttons could be assigned different uses in different programs, but the drivers supplied with the latest mice no longer support this...
could the old drivers be downloaded (where from?) and used with the newer Ms mice.. or even an MX700 or similar??

the microsoft wireless optical mouse is only $40. your gona pay $60 to $70 for the mx700. the microsoft is also a lot more comfortable than the mx700. the microsoft has a good scroll wheel and it runs very smoothly. on most mouses the scroll wheel clicks and the microsofts runs real smooth compared to the others.

The MX700 is $56 at Newegg, a bit cheaper at a couple places listed on Pricewatch.

MX 700, or the whole set which includes the keyboard. The weight is nothing compared to the egronomics of the mouse. It does not work on wood surfaces though. It is only for right handed people.
For cheaper than the MX700 would be MX500, but its not corldess
There is the MX900-that is the same as the MX700 but uses bluetooth.
