MP3 help, portable rights
Friend is having problems with his mp3.
When I select the "Add" button, I get a message that tells me that some of the files may not be downloaded because the file does not have proper download to portable rights. |

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH glc, thats gotta be the funniest thing i've heard all day.
you can only copy things a limited amount of times. it is built into the songs. (this is for the paid downloading). he/she has probably used up he/she's copying limit. |

Or the particular song licensing doesn't allow transfer to a portable device.

Microsoft DRM is a nightmare, different rights for different songs, how you are supposed to keep up with that is beyond me, I guess thats why HP told napster to take ahike and went with apple itunes instead, same right for every song so you always know where you stand.
M$ DRM isn't actually built into the song though, it uses certificates that are linked to the song, if you lose the cert or it gets corrupted the song is un useable, typical of M$ proprietary technology.
