cd drives just stopped working
Both my cd-rom and cd burner drives just stopped working. Device Manager says that it cannot load driver because they are corrupt or missing. Error code 39.
The problem i see is that now i can't even get my xp disc back in to get the drivers copied again. What do i do? The cd-rom is a pine and they don't have any drives to download. By the way they seem to have power to them but they don't spin. I tried playing a music CD that worked a few days ago and that didn't even spin. Have you made any recent changes to the system? If you put your XP disc in with the BIOS set to boot from CD-Rom, does it try to boot from the CD? Also, try with one drive connected at a time, one may have failed and is interfering with the other.

thanks
yeah, it was a problem with CD Creator software. I removed it but had to go through and manually remove some folders and settings.
Thanks, Jake |
