removal of xeon plastic heatsink base

Hey guys

Got a slight problem here. I'm trying to remove these plastic heatsink rails that are attached to the motherboard. They are sometype of locking plastic standoff that is securing it to the board.

How do you get these off?

Are you talking for the old slot type Xeons... if so, make sure you remove the locking pin, then just use a rocking motion to pull out the rails. It will take a bit of pressure to get them to snap up and out.

thanks for the reply Hal

I figured it out. It's for the current generation of Xeon ( 2.8ghz, 533fsb ) and all I need to do was use a screwdriver and pry them up.

Thanks again.
