Why is this cool?

I have to wonder what they were thinking with the checkerboard look.

I guess they think people that build computers are "nerds" and most "nerds" play chess. So if they put half a chess board on the case then 2 "nerds" would buy the case so they could play chess together whithout being on a computer. But then that defeats the whole purpose of being a computer "nerd" so why would they buy a case on the first place. So, there putting the checker pattern on the case because.....................I don't know why. LOL

This junk has gotten so bad that it is getting hard to find a decent looking beige windowless case, when a customer wants one.

I got it right away, QS, and you should have too! It's for Ford Loving NASCAR fans! - Blue case and checkered flag for winnin'! Ok, so maybe the blue isn't dark enough and the flag is shaped kinda funny, give me credit for trying. Put a red 88 on the side and I bet Jarrett fans would go for it!

I agree. Many of the cases today are pretty silly looking.

I like the look of the older XaserII and III. The Xaser V is just far too buisy and cluttered looking. And BTW, whats the crap I hear about no Ford fans being left!?!?

This thing is so ugly. I'm not even going to go into how cheap it looks. What happened to the clean lined, windowless cases? Not everyone needs to see the inside of their case. It seems like Antec and Thermaltake (a few good ones anyway) are the only simple good cases left. You have 3 choices anymore. 2 if you want something good. Cheap $40 white / gray cases, these high profile extreame things, or Aluminum.

Hey not everybody wants a beige case. I have sold many bolder designs with some decent modding to folks I would have never dreamed would want something so bold.
So you say potatoe I say putato..
Im 49 and I love the glass side on my case,it lets me see when I need to blow it out!!!lol

I just say, french fries !! I agree, fancy stuff is not for everybody, the same way that beige is not for everybody -- but it's best to like what you've got or are going to get

It reminds me of the "Fast times at Ridgemont High" sneakers back in the 80's gawd those things looked awful.

We's still likes our Antec case with a simple window.

We only wish to mod a case, so simply-sweet!

Well, all I can say is many of you folks with these fancy cases have to thank those early pioneering case modders from a few years back...without them, we'd still all be using beige cases...or cases that the engineers thought were cool. Remember when Intel had that case design contest a few years ago? Many of the cases entered were these small little designer things that resembled post modern household appliances painted in pretty pastel colors...ugh...now those were bad.

I got a plain black case with 2 bleu lights in front and thats all I need (antec sonata). If I were to add something it would be 1 normal window and maybe some blacklights to make IDE cables glow

I still have my good old XaserII Silver. I like the simple yet not too bland effect it has. It will be awhile before I replace it (even if it is a bit of a bahemoth to haul to LANs)

I don't remember where I saw the article, but it was a review on the case, and the checkered patter is a rip off of some fashion designer, they make a Damier line of purses that have the design. Wish I could remember the link, but it commented on how thermaltake always rips off designs and rebadges them. Not ripping them or anything, as I think they make excellent products, just a review on the cases I read once.

That red one is bad. I don't really like the Thermaltake either. I like CoolerMaster cases. Clean brushed aluminum and no flashy stuff.

It's just an Enermax case anyway.

ThermalTake inside:

Coincidence? I think not.

I agree the first case was disgusting, but I must admit that Demon one caught my eye, it was pretty creative. If only they'd get rid of the red cover for the drive slots. I wouldn't buy it, I believe in functionality and not wasting money, and I agree it's hard to find plain cases nowadays, but nonetheless...
