Amd 64 Fx-53 Is Out!

They just tested it on hardocp.com. and its being shown on the amd web site.....The prices for fx-51 might drop a lot within the next 3 weeks. THANK GOD I SAVED MY MONEY!!

See why people say wait? Also, in the benchmarks, I see the Prescott core is really gaining ground. I think Prescott is the processor to watch over this year, it will perform better and better as it gains higher clock speeds, speeds a northwood can only dream of.

i cnat figure out how they increase to clock speeds with which fry the same cpus we have, and still keep a low temp... They use diff knids of chips or somthing? How come tehy cna and we cnat so easily

If I understand you correctly, and you are asking about how Intel can keep their processors cool at high clock speeds while AMD operate at lower clock speeds but still have a high temperature, your answer lies with pipelining. Look at my website in my sig for the info on pipelining, in the articles section.

i thought they were going to make this chip with the 939 pin. for the new socket 939 mobo's seems like a waste to spend money on this if socket 939 is so close. maybe im wrong

i would rather buy the fx-51 when it goes down in price, then oc to heaven and back, anyone know high it cna go without liquid cooling?

I think the fx-53 is the last of it's kind, I think I remember reading somewhere that they were going to stop developing the fx series and pump everything they have into athlon 64. Probably because the fx series need the registered ram, and are still pricey. Nothing compared to intel though, with their extreme edition. There is no doubt the the extreme edition is more than a competitor for athlon 64 in 32 bit environments, but the pricing is just crazy.

how far do u guys think the 51 chip will fall? Price wise, i eman at stock the 3400 is gehad to head, so its gotta drop to around that price....
