painting my mouse

i just painted my optical mouse. and the bottom half was a semi-transparent plastic, a where the light from the laser thingy inside hits the side of the mouse it hasnt dried, it stays semi-sticky

err how exactly do you paint plastic? sand then spraypaint?

theres a new spray paint, Krylon Fusion, it bonds directly to plastics without sanding or priming

the plastic used for computers can be painted on. my dad told me cause he use to ship out the plastic beads. its just where the light hits the side of the case. its like it melts the paint or sumthing. i also used the same paint for keyboard and computer, and dried in a day

I recently did the same with a cheap optical mouse I had. First I tried plain old spray paint but after a couple days the paint got sticky and started coming off. I gave up and it sat around for a while. A couple weeks ago I decided to try again. I used Liquid Sand Paper to remove any old paint and residue. Then I put a thin coat of Krylon Fusion paint. After a couple more coats the mouse looked better than ever and is holding up fine. I suggest you start over using Fusion paint. Go through the same process I did. You can buy Liquid Sand Paper at any hardware store. When you paint put very light coats on one at a time allowing them to dry for a few minutes in between. Don't try and do it all at once. It won't work.

I had the same issue with my trackball, because my computer is next to my bed (I live in accommodation blocks) and I leave it on, the red light was keeping me awake
So I sprayed it use the Krylon paint and cut down the light problem majorly (though in the end the simple solution was to cover the mouse with a rag hahaha)
