motherboard standoffs

Greetings from Capetown. Will be grateful if anyone is able to point me right on following: A new chassis came with 6 plastic standoffs and 2 brass standoffs (the brass ones taking screws) and no insulating/ plastic washers. The plastic standoffs aren't slide in, but screw in same as the brass ones, and on the chassis there are only screw holes, no slide-in slots. My new motherboard (Asrock P4S61, micro ATX) has 6 holes for standoffs, all appearing completely insulated from the on-board circuitry. Is it necessary to use any of the brass standoffs, and, if yes, how do I see or find out where they should go? All 6 positions appear the same. What is the logic behind the two different types of standoff (plastic and brass)?

The brass standoffs can go in any of the 6 mounting holes. I prefer to use all brass standoffs to be sure the board can't move because eventually you will be adding or updating cards or memory, etc. Just be sure the brass standoffs are in the mounting holes so they can't short the MB.

I'm not sure why that case came with more nylon than brass stand offs, but all they have to do is hold the motherboard away from the mounting tray so the underside of the motherboard doesn't short out to the tray.

I'm guessing cost as one reason some cases use nylon stand offs. The brass stand offs would be more secure, but they both do the same thing...hold the motherboard above the mounting tray.
