format--partitions
Hi folks this is my delemma--I want to format my HDD BUT it is partitioned,I really dont want f-disk..can I just format each partition separatly?? and then load XP and let XP repartition it?TIA..

Just do a normal boot from the XP cd to do the install and select which partition you want it installed on. Format that selected partition to NTFS and complete the install. Once finished, use XP's Disk Management to format the remaining partitions. This assumes you want to keep the partitions the same size as now.

If you want to get rid of the partitions and start fresh you can download Delpart from http://www.russelltexas.com/delpart.htm
This will allow you to delete the existing partitions and set up new ones with XP. Chas

Sorry guys bout not getting right back with a response to your suggestions -but- I have been trying to get this dadgum computer to work again,BTW I loaded win 2000 pro instead of winXP.
