Intel or AMD? Click here if that is your question!

If you are asking yourself which processor you should choose for your next build....do this!

-Go to the search screen
-Type in the search box "Intel vs. AMD"
-Select under the forum subheading "Processors,
Motherboards and Overclocking"
-Choose "Search in titles only"

There will be over 2 pages of AMD/Intel threads returned, so no one needs to post a new one anymore.

This needs to be done, as every other day there seems to be a new "AMD/Intel which would work better for my build" thread, and they all seem to be the same, so if someone could stick this post it could really cut down on the amount of these posts being made....it just seems like most of us are sick of seeing them...maybe it's just me.

Amazing the number of "views" some of those threads have had! Nice idea, icallmedan. I'm with you on reducing this area of discussion.

What if they want to know how a VIA C3 or that new Chinese made CPU compares to the Intel or AMD offerings?

Well if it prevents one AMD vs. Intel thread...I think most of us believe that it is well worth it....

About time these annoying, never ending, and lead-to-nowhere battles were done for. Thanks.

Thanks for doing this thread. What I'm going to do is to take this link, and every time anyone steers in the direction of "which one is better?", I'll just give them the link:

Good idea Kram. But we can't have everyone reading this thread, because then there would be nothing turning up when they search "Intel VS AMD"!

So what you are saying is that AMD is better than Intel. Right?

When one posts in the general forum, their number of posts does not increase, I suggest a similiar system for when one posts in the Intel V. AMD family of threads, which come to think about it should be in their own forum which will be purged daily

just an idea

That would be too hard to do, moderate post counts on single threads, it's not worth it. We can all just hope people read this post before the post a new war.

Personally, I don't think it's the post count that's an issue. And if a Mod notices someone spamming the AMD v. Intel threads, then they will deal with that accordingly. But the problem is now, that the thread will start off with a question about parts for a build, then somehow the question gets asked "should I consider going AMD/Intel instead", and then the you know what hits the fan.
