eupa pentium II/III 233-800mhz
cpu 800mhz slot1 pentium III after ive installed these, i changed in the BIOS, the cpu speed to 800 mhz. when i turned on the computer, it displayed pentium III 800E mhz... BUT when i checked my system information on in windows ( such as 'right click' on my computer icon ), it shows: pentium ( R )II processor intel mmx ( TM ) technology... instead of pentium III 800. what could be the problem... how do you fix that? i am not sure what is the real speed because of that. |

What shows in the BIOS is what it is, your particular version of Windows might not be able to detect the proper speed and model on your processor. Not to worry, if the BIOS sees it properly, ignore what Windows thinks about it.

Yep..Xayd's right..if the bios detects it properly you're fine. Under win2k my processors are detected as something like model 3 stepping "so and so"...but I know they are PIII's running at proper speed. If you wanna double check go to http://www.h-oda.com and download his wcpuid program to verify what kind cpu you have and the speed it is running. HTH

Okay, thanks guys. The reason I wasn't sure was because when I first boot the computer it display 300mhz in the bios then I have to change the cpu speed to 800 mhz. I thought the cpu is supposed to display by itself. Again, thanks.
