Simple Intel Question, Please help

Sorry if this is a dumb question but...
Is spending $50 more for a P4 3.0C Ghz over a P4 2.8C GHz *really* worth it?

Im building a strictly audio DAW, and dont wish to overclock for stability reasons. Im looking to cut costs where I can though, so Im curious if that little jump in operating frequency is worth the price? I guess Im even curious if the difference between the P4 3.0C and a P4 2.4C would be that noticable?

Thanks,
-Scott

No its not between the 2.8 and 3. The 2.4 and 3 maybe, but I really doubt it is an outstanding increase or anything.

The 2.8c is less than $20 more than the 2.4c and is well worth it. The jump to 3.0 is a lot steeper and not worth it. The 2.8c is the sweet spot right now.

I appreciate the responses. I think I'll go with the P4 2.8 then.

Thanks!
