Check your bios settings for Wake on Lan (WOL) - disable it.

I would disable that onboard LAN then If I was not planning on using it right away. It's just 1 more thing for windows to load and if you're not using it disable it till you need to use it someday..

That may or may not be the answer to the shutdown problem but it is just a good idea to disable onboard LAN if your not using it.. You'll probably notice a little bit faster bootup time now though..

Have you scanned for viruses, spyware, hijackers, malware and trojans? Been seeing a whole lot of this kind of stuff on computers lately, especially the hijackers.

What OS are you using?
Are you using Roxio's Easy CD Creator? This web page has good information on shutdown and restart problems. Problem might also be related to the PC Chips motherboard. Cricket
