IC7-MAX3 -- no parallel port

As I narrow down my search for my ideal motherboard, among others, the Abit IC7-MAX3 is rated very, very well, but it does not have any legacy ports, including a parallel port. The other legacy ports are not an issue, but the parallel port is important to me. In attempting to achieve an optimum result in this computer build, will simply adding a PCI parallel card have any negative issues to the overall system?
