Memory Settings, O/C ing

Hi All,

I have a question about my memory settings in Bios.

I have Corsair XMS Twinx 1024 PC3200C2 (2x512) in my P4P800 Deluxe MB.

The specs of the memory say 2 3 3 6 1T. What is the "1T"? In the bios I set the 2 3 3 6 but the next setting is Dram Burst Speed(? from my memory, I am at work). It allows auto, 4 clocks or 8 clocks. Not sure which to use. Is that in place of the 1T?

Also, is the 2.65V a good voltage setting for this memory? I had read in a forum that it should be set at 2.75V? Of course I am looking for performance (playing Call Of Duty) and stability.

One last question. I tried to overclock at just 5% and the system would not boot. I expected to be able to boot this system a little. Any ideas where to start?

Thanks

that ram will handle the 2.85V max on your board no problem, try that first, I bet your problem is with the CAS of 2, unless it's specifically rated at that above 200FSB (rare). It's usually better to use manual overclock than the AI on the Asus boards, although not getting POST at 5% is odd....usually you can just go higher with manual

**edit** try relaxing the timings to 2.5-3-3-5 or 2.5-3-3-7 or 2.5-4-4-7 in that order, hopfully you don't have to go with a CAS of 3...but you may to get very far

Lock your AGP/PCI at 66/33 also

Thanks, I will give those settings a try. What about the Burst Speed? Choices are Auto, 4 clocks, 8 clocks.

Thanks again.
