Here's the problem: I've had my burrner for about 4 months now, and its worked fine. Up intill this point, I have never experianced a problem with it. I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition Burrning software, and I use THX CD-R's. Anyway, I've never used a THX CD that didn't burn properly, and now all of a sudden my burrner will stop in the middle of the process. Does anything know of any ideas that might help me out? Thanks!

The last drive isn't a drive, but rather a Deamon tools drive for loading CD Images...

Gotcha - but you need DMA on the burner.
Get the Nero update too - 6.0.0.0 was the initial release and was a bit buggy. It's up to 6.3.1.6 now. Last edited by glc; 04-16-2004 at 12:33 AM. |

Device manager. In 9x/ME it's in the properties of the drive itself, in 2K/XP its in the properties of the IDE controllers. It stands for Direct Memory Access and is necessary to get full speed transfers and to prevent high CPU usage.

Thanks for the help, I just set the DMA and now I'm trying to burn. What does PIO, the other choice vs. DMA, stand for? Why would I need DMA on my Deamon drive btw?

It worked! Looks like you know your stuff. Question: Why did I have to have DMA enabled on the Deamon Drive?

Try uninstalling nero and downloading a different burning program. If the different program doesn;t work then your burner is porbably broken.

Yes, everytime it doesn't burn. Usually it will get to about 2 or 4 percent before it starts, but it will take at least 3 mins to go through the cycle to tell me that there is an error.
