Angry

I just finished piecing together a system from new and used parts. But once I got the system funtioning I quickly noticed that there was barely any sound coming out of my speakers.

I know that the speakers work because I was just using them in my old system. However, I changed sound cards and this is the only logical place that I can see where the problem began.

I bought a new motherboard with on board sound built in. The make of the board is an Epox EP-7KXA, with AC97 PCI Audio. http://www.epox.com/html/english/pro...rd/ep-7kxa.htm

I installed the drivers for the audio, restarted and no go! I tried cranking up the volume in the windows volume control panel as well as on the speakers, and all that I can hear are faint sounds from games and audio CD's. I can't find an updated driver for this device anywhere and am really upset.

Does anyone know of a fix?

Are the speakers amplified. Some systems require amplified speakers as the output level is very low. If they aren't your other system may have a much higher ouput level to take this into consideration

fqpissed Ahhhh Crap!

Thanx bdunn!

I didn't take that into consideration, but I will now.

Does anyone recommend an affordable set of amplified speakers?

Thanx,
Shaun
