athlon 64 build
A friend of mine wanted help picking out system parts for an Athlon 64 system, and since it's my first time with a Athlon 64, I figured I'd get your opinion on the parts.
He already has a case and a 9800 pro. My main question is whether the power supply is enough. Not sure how much power the Athlon 64 uses, so I'd like to know if 380W is enough. Also, does Windows 2000 work alright with the Athlon 64? |

380 Should be enough as long as it is a quality unit.

A 380W should be enough, but if you want, go with a 420W Enlight, it's probably about the same, if not less than the 380W Antec.
Win2K should be fine with the A64, especially since it won't be running in 64bit, rather 32bit. |

Alright, I switched to the Enlight because of the price difference. Thanks for the help.

D'oh! Just realized that you stated it was an antec. I have had really good luck with the truepower series. It should be fine.

I have a 420w PSU with my A64, and it works great. I even have an FX card so it will draw more power than his R9800p. 380 should be fine.
