Good Afternoon,
I'm rebuilding my computer from an earlier crash. The modem is an HSP56 MicroModem that is detected by Win98 but I can't seem to communicate with it. I seem to remember that when I last installed it, I needed some "extra settings" typed in to get it working. Anybody know what I need to type in? Thanks! --reball01 |

That's a $5 modem. Do yourself a favor and take this opportunity to get a decent modem. You *did* install the drivers for it from the PC Schitz CD, right?

Here is link for the drivers you need if your modemhas a sticker on it that says "new" on it download the CM8738 file as those driver did not come on most disc.I just had the same problem with a system I put together for a friend. Also like glc stated this is not the best modem but it works. This one still will connect as good as my Diamond modem on my ISP.Hope this helps!!
