PC HARDWARE PROBLEM, I CANT FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG aRGG!!!!!!
I am so frustrated with my pc right now because I can't figure out what's wrong with it.
Here are the symptoms: I have trouble sometimes resizing my browser and folder windows. I have trouble highlighting words on word documents. When I play first person shooter games, when i press the fire button and hold it down, I am not able to spray.. instead it lags for a second or two before it starts to fire. (this happens a lot in counter strike and i'm too frustrated to play it). And more recently, when I play video games... sometimes my pc reboots. Here's info on my pc and what I've done and havent done: It's an amd xp-1700 overclocked to xp 2400-2.0 gig. I have been running it overclocked for 2 and a half years now. It's always been working fine up until this past month. At first I thought it was my video card or something, but I have eliminated that problem because this started happening on my radeon 9200, and now I have a radeon 9800pro and it's still happening. So it's not the video card. I asked a friend about this and he said it could be my RAM. HMMM.. I dont really have any expertise on RAM so thats why I am asking you experts out there.. Do you think that my Ram is crapping out on me? I have Crucial pc2100 512mb of ddr ram. I am hoping that its not my cpu that is crapping out due to my 2 years of overclocking it.... and i have an achieve 500 power watt supply... i think that is a good enough psu. so what can it be??? IS IT THE RAM??? if so i'll be more than happy to purchase new ones... I JUST WANNA OWN ON CS AGAIN... and not get owned . thanks for the help! |

First, check for viruses, trojans, worms, and spyware.
If the problem continues to persist, clock your cpu back to stock, and see what happens |

Achieve is a low quality PSU and you should get a better PSU. And it isn't the watts that is important, it is the quality. Here is a short list for you to look at, and the link following.
The following is compliments of bigandy: Good: Enlight Enermax Fortron Source (Sparkle) PC Power & Cooling Antec HEC Thermaltake AOpen PowerMan Ahanix Bad: Allied DEER L&C Turbolink Skyhawk Star KingStar Achieve Aspire Raidmax http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?threadid=85892 |
