IBM Thinkpad 600E dead?

Well, I'm not sure exactly how this came to be, but I believe my motherboard to be dead. This is on an IBM Thinkpad 600E P2 366mhz w/~300mb RAM. I received a 'cyclic redundancy error' and decided to restart and all of a sudden, error message. I wrote everything down, but failed to bring it with me to work, so I don't have any specific details.

I ran the error checking utility, and it found errors on the system board. It would also crash when I would test the memory, but I don't know if that's related, though something worth mentioning. The only other thing I can think of is the laptop did suffer a fall from about 6 inches onto my glass coffee table. Perhaps that damaged the motherboard or knocked something loose (memory maybe?).

Regardless, I'd like to get inside the laptop and see if somethings loose, but have never opened this one up, nor any other laptop up. Anyone know what I would do to bust it open? Any suggestions on what my problem might be? Thanks!
