No fixed drives found???
I connected a used hdd to my computer, booted up with my boot disk and tried to do a format c: /q...nothing, i then put in my win98se cd and tried to fdisk from the cd, it told me no fixed disks present. also, the grren light on the hdd blinks in the following patter, not sure what it means.
green light blinks 7 times, then pauses, then blinks 2 more times, then repeats the same pattern. I also tried a format c: /s..nothing, will not format |

Check the jumpering. If it's a Western Digital drive, "master" is not the same as "single", you have to remove the jumper to use it as a single drive with no slave attached. You have nothing to lose, try all jumper combinations.
