I was looking at the specs for my Liteon 8X DVD Burner and I saw something that says MTBF ( Life ) : 70,000 Hours. What does this mean?

Do all burners and CD-Rom's have this projected life span?

Yep. Hard drives and monitors as well I believe.

oooo sorry i wasnt thinking straight
, i didnt realise that it was nearly 8 years. i havent clearly seen a MTBF number yet, but presumeably it will be in the packaging.
