Smile Ram upgrade to 1024 RAM

RAM upgrad to 1 Gig

My one-year-old computer came with 512 MB of RAM. I am doing digital video editing and what to double my RAM. Q: how can I be sure that the RAM I purchase matches what I already have?

Thanks for the tip. I went to Crucial Web site and started following their 1-2-3 step procedure to learn what kind of RAM I need for my computer. Problem is that my computer is not listed amoung the companies listed. My computer was built by SYS.com a company out of California. If I were to remove one of my existing RAM modules, are there markings on it that would allow me tell what kind of RAM I have?? Thanks

open up your PC and see if you can see What Manufacturer it is and model your motherboard is. They usually have it printed somewhere on the motherboard. Knowing the Brand and model can help to find out what memory is compatable w/it.

If you take your RAM out, the Brand of the RAM should be marked on it somewhere. If you find out what brand it is, then you can just buy the same kind, just larger capacity.
