Pissed Pc Wont boot for first time

Well i Am a first Time pc Builder and i seeembled a pc 2 months ago here r the spec's.

Amd Athlon Xp 2000 Processor with Retail heat sink
Nvidia Nforce 2 400 Al Mobo
PC2700 Memory 512 mb Centon
Ati Xtasy 128 mb video card


Ok ill Explain i connected all the Front pannel connectors ATX power and Power led and powered up pc with intentiosn of Gettin into Bios for first boot but promblems Mount up ..... first off the power led light wont Come on the front side of the pc meaning the stand by power ( red light on the mobo) is on next promblem is i turn on the pc and i hear the fans turing meaning mobo is gettin power but my monitor still wont come on so i unplugged it and cleared cmos and powerred on again still no power led light or green light on the pc case and also the monitor wont go green it does turn green for a sec when whenever cmos is cleared but the it turn back orange again plz help

Pull the vid card and re seat it, do the same with the ram. Try the ram in a different slot. Be sure you hard drive is jumpered correctly, I would set it to cable select.

I cant tell from your post but I think you have the power issue corrected, right?

Follow the troubleshooting instructions in the first post of this thread.

If the LEDs don't work, take the connector and flip it around 180 degrees and try again.

Is that video card compatible with that motherboard? If it's an AGP2X card, it's probably not, I believe all NForce boards only work with 4x and 8x cards - it's a voltage issue.

idk really cuzz im using it right now on my intel 700 plus i got a 32 mb video card that i tryed it with the mob same results

ps no Agp only pci

Okay - then that's not an issue - it's only an issue with AGP. Follow Cricket's link.

so i cant use a pci video card for first boot and cricklet link ?

Sure you can - any PCI video card will work. I'm just saying that there are issues with AGP card voltages. In fact, if that board has onboard video, just use that. If it does, the onboard Nvidia is worlds better than that old ATI PCI card you have.

i still dont undersatand why it aint showing a display or why the screen monitor wont turn steady green i hear the fans i hear the power supply fan and last night i was messign around i managed to get the Dram power light on to light up on the mobo which i thought did the trick i wnet and out in ATi Xtasy 128 mb pci video card and powewred it up Dram power light on the mobo came on but there was no display plus the screen was still off or in which case Orange
