newbie....needs newbie advice.

I'm pretty artistic and have always wanted to do a case mod.

I want to try a simple mod to my case. I just want to cut out a design on the side and add a light inside my case. I have a rotary saw with the appropriate bits. As for the Light.....................??????

I have no idea how to install a light in my PC.

Can some one point out a site where they explain how to do this step by step?

thanks in advance.

www.svc.com and look up the cold cathode lights. the best ones are the sunbeams, they are true to color and are very inexpensive.

The light will just plug into one of the 4 pin "molex" connectors like the drives use. You then put some sticky velcro on it, stick it wherever it'll fit, and plug the light into the inverter, and the inverter into the molex. Usually they have a switch that mounts where a PCI cover (slots on the mobo) goes, so you can turn it on and off. Are you going to put a window in the cut out? I second Tin's link to buy the light, cheapest I've found, and best quality. Beats anything you can pick up locally or order at another sight. Good luck. Ack, just saw you're in Canada, don't know if they deliver internationally or not.

Thanks for the advice. Seems pretty easy.

I found a place here in Canada that sells them so I'm still good to go.
