Some interesting and thought provoking comments. Q: What do mean by even atheists have a religion?

Interesting from a British perspective, we generally have the view that yanks are a bunch of bible bashing christian fundamentalists. (okay I'm exaggerating a bit) but it seems that a lot of the people here have a purely personal belief.

Before I end I'd just like to say I except a lot of what has been said but that doesn't change the fact that I think religion is generally a bad thing (for many different reasons). I guess I am biased. As far as this thread is concerned I'll leave it there.

Bish

I think my modem may be on its way out.

The U.S. supported the Taliban and other "freedom fighters" in their civil war against the legitimate but Soviet supported communist government. I guess they did this in the name of freedom. Afghans are now less free then they were under the communists, especially the women. See the link in post above.

Any comments?

Bish

no I am not a communist nor a socialist.

I have to disagree with this - Every religion tries to teach the poeple to be GOOD - but it's the PEOPLE who making it BAD because of only taking what is in favor for them - to blame RELIGION is VERY EASY to blame ourself is very HARD!

It's the same about the LAW of human beings - many swearing against the COPS - as long as the cop in NEUTRAL to the law then nothing unexpected happen - if he is in favor for one or the other thing which may any kind of PROFIT for him then NOT THE LAW IS BAD but the COP is bad.!

Definition of Religion - a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith certainly by that definition, Atheism is a religion. You must have faith to believe that there is no God.

As I said previously, many use Religion as a club to beat people over the head and try to conform others to their beliefs. Others through faith in God, try to make the world a better place. Sure there are some Christian people that I am ashamed of but there are also some that make me proud like Billy Graham.
