If called, would you serve in your countries military, possibly loose your life for freedom?

Most definately. If this whole thing erupts to a major war, i will suspend my college career for the time being and serve my country. Sure if the draft was enabled i'd be passed over as i'm a student but heck that just isn't fair nor just considering many men of different backgrounds fought for our freedom many times over. My friends say i'm crazy but for me its a sense of civic duty to my country because everyday we get to do pretty much anything we dang well please...and i happen to like it and want it to stay that way...thank you.

Its good to hear that! I have served although it was a long time ago and I am hearing the grumbling of some about serving in the military much less putting thier life on the line. I salute you!

Everyone can and will serve. Work, be productive and pay taxes and if called upon buy bonds. A volunteer armed force is all we need.

Spent six years active duty in the Air Force Security Forces. Spent another 4+ or so in an Army National Guard tank battalion serving as both a cav scout and loader and as of this Monday I have enlisted once again in the reserves as a prior enlisted. I'm 34 and have two kids. I have been looked upon as crazy the past week but I believe now is the time for all to do what they can. My wife asked me if it would be worth losing my life and "What about the kids" Well I feel nobody should take their freedom for granted and why should some others lose their family members for this freedom just so we can go about enjoying it.
If I was 50 and they would still take me, there is no doubt I'd serve then too. |

There is no question about it. Once asked, I'd be one of the first in line asking if I can use my own gun.

Looks like there are sufficient personell for now. If you're in college,
stay there. Postponed mine in '69 to go USMC. regretfully, never went back. The country needs to keep it's economy strong too. There's plenty to be done right here. |
