folding
ok. got the program...running for 20 mintes now. says: 10/250WU(4%) blah blah blah... team#13761....HOWEVER...i dont see my name on the list. do i have 2 send it or something? my username is Jimmy. and...i bet liljimmie is gonna reply 1st. just a hunch.

You will have to complete a whole work unit and once it is submitted give or take and hour your name will show on the Stanford PCMech team list and as for the EOC team stats page it will take a lil longer but just give it time as long as you got the right team number you're good!

k. guess i was wrong. is there any way i can check the time remaining? also, if i restart the comp before a wu finishes, will it have 2 start over?
edit: how do i set it 2 go as fast as it can? i have another comp....fast lil demon...ill run it on that.(3.4ghz) Last edited by speeddude2000; 06-17-2004 at 04:16 PM. |

Many of us who fold with more than one PC use a program called Electron Microscope to monitor our clients and it will give you a rough idea of how long it will take to fold a certain protien.
There should be a link in the F@H info to know thread for it. If you have a hyperthreading cpu like the Prescott in your sig then you can run 2 instances of folding at home which can produce 20-40 more that running one instance, but that will really tax your system to the max as far as heat goes. This web page is a bit dated but still has some great info on folding and getting the most out of your system. Look under 5 B for the part on running 2 instances.
