Folding slows my server down~!
Well, I always thought that folding took the back seat, but apparently there is a delay in it giving up my cpu's power. Right now I am hosting a forum on my comp, and when a user loads a page, it takes some of the cpu's power. Whenever I have folding running, there is a lot of delay and lag. Yet when I disable it, everything runs smooth and fast.
Isn't there a happy medium? Some way to get around this problem without turning folding off?

I was sure that when you set it up you can specify what CPU amount it was allowed. Maybe I am mistaken, but you could always try. Change it to 60-75% and then the rest can be used for other things.

yeah, if your running the graphical client right click the icon and goto configure then on the advanced tab there is the cpu usage slider bar, move it to the left a bit. see if that helps any.

Or you could stop the client and edit the client.cfg file. To change the cpu usage to suit your needs from 0-100% Once the changes have been made save, exit and restart the client.
Here is a sample file - [settings] username=lil_Jimmie team=13761 asknet=no machineid=1 local=52 [http] active=no host=localhost port=8080 usereg=yes [clienttype] type=1 [core] priority=100 cpuusage=100 disableassembly=no checkpoint=30 ignoredeadlines=no

Which client are you using? If you're not using the text console, try switching to it and see if that makes any difference.
