one year ago....

about one year ago (8/5/03) we were in 1851th place on the folding stats sheet with a total of 5 members, we now are in 79th place and have 155 members (66 active). thats a big change. way to go guys! lets see what we can do in the next year!

i myself have been folding since 8/14/03, a little over 11 months and have gone from running a single 466 celly to having an Athlon 2600+, P4 1.6 @ 2.1, P4 2.8, celly 2.7, K-6 500mhz, soon to be a cluster of P75's and a P133 and that old 466 celly!

what a difference a year makes!

great work everyone!!!!

Yes, congrats to all that have folded. It's great to see the team moving up the ladder. Hopefully we can keep moving up.

I just added a 2500+ to my effort, and now am folding a lot more quickly. Great to see what can happen in a year.

Folding is using up your spare processor cycles for a project. IN F@H's case it studies how proteins 'fold', this is important because when proteins misfold they cause diseases, such as BSE and Althezmers(sp?, probably wrong). The box in my signature is just my stats, and show how well i'm doing, I have studied how 5 proteins fold, and they are called work units. Each WU is worth a different amount of points, and you amass a total. In the end it's all for the good of science, and it helps save peoples lives.

We sure would love to have you on the team. It's all for a great cause, so if you can join, please do!

And if you do decide to join, I recommend you use the text console, or run F@H as a service (link can be found by clicking on my sig. image). People seem to have fewer problems this way.

Yes it has also been almost a year now for me. WOW, I started with 7 machines and now we have 16 on line.
All the original boxes where replaced with faster machines when liljimmie and I where going at it. I sure miss Jim at my rear view mirror for he always keept me on my toes. I know he will come back strong when the summer is over.Until then we will just keep folding for the team and for the cause.

I don't think my 8 PCs running 24/7 will keep up with ya trainop, you've added a few Ghz to your farm since I backed off running all mine non-stop.

We have come a long way from the begining, when I started in September of last year we were around 530 and change so to be in the top 80 teams says a lot bout our effort. We have all donated to this effort and every lil bit counts from trainop's 1800+ points a day to the 1 or 2 work units donated by a few who don't stay with the effort for whatever reason I say thank you to you all and keep folding!!!
