f@h as service

i can't seem to get f@h to run as a service on my winxp machine. i did as it says oin the folding frogs website but when the pc is started either the command prompt f@h opens or nothing does. i thought a service wasn't to be seen.

I guess I'm too lazy, I just use this one click install method and edit the username and team number then fire it up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like all you have to do is to choose which zip file is the correct one for you, download it, edit the client.cfg to your info, and install from the .exe that came in the zip archive.

that will set it as a service? i thought those were regular installs. thats why i didn't understand. i did read on one and see that it sets it as a service (one of the top ones i think) downloaded it on this pc and sent it over the network to another pc, and it wouldn't work. it caused the system to almost crash! i restarted it and am trying it again now.

I have it as a service, and all I did was follow the frogs website to the letter, no sign of it running, try again and see what happens.

Very cool Mr N8. Have you tried it out yet? If so, how has it gone so far with the new version.

I'm running it as a service on my home box, and it seems to be stable. No issues to report, as of yet, but I've only been running it 2 days.
