PLEASE READ!! Signature image size limit
Folks:
We have a new set of rules you all need to review. http://forum.pcmech.com/rules.php It's going to affect all of you that are using the PC Mech/F@H banner in your sigs, it's now oversize as per the new rules. We really don't want to edit all of your sigs, so could whoever is now hosting these images please adjust the size to comply with the requirement? |

I'm on it. I'll resize the images and reupload them, along with providing links to the new images so that those who wish to use the images can.
I'm also requesting that one, or several, other members create Photobucket accounts to help host the images. Or if you could use your own web space that would be even better. The reason is that if my photobucket account surpasses its alloted bandwidth, the images will not come through. HTML Code:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/PCMF@H/bronze_fah_sig.jpg HTML Code:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/PCMF@H/dark_blue_fah_sig.jpg HTML Code:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/PCMF@H/light_blue_fah_sig.jpg If you would like to host these images on your own web space, or create your own photobucket account and link to the images yourself, send me a PM and I'll email the images to you. Last edited by bigandy; 08-04-2004 at 03:02 AM. |

Thank you very much, bigandy.
Blue - technically it's oversize - 468 pixels long. You can keep it for now but I can see we need to have a staff discussion. |

andy, thanks for doing that. I hosted one picture at TinyPic , which is another free service Photobucket offers. The link for the bronze one is http://tinypic.com/1ga51 , in case anyone is interested in using it.
glc, I'm just curious, but did the F@H sigs prompt the signature size change, or was that in the works anyway?

I don't know - Dris rewrote the rules after we lost the existing rules during the forum upgrade. We are discussing this specific rule right now and plan on clarifying it. It wasn't a change as much as it was a clarification anyway - it used to be up to moderator's discretion and he rewrote it to give specific guidance.

Now that there are 3 options for the stats graphic, please use one of the ones that comply with the rules. Also, those of you that are still linking to the forum attachment for the banner, please change to one of the new downsized images that bigandy has so kindly provided.

I'd like to see all sigs under 100px in height (which includes all graphics and text), this scrolling through all these signatures has gotten old. I have turned off signatures because of this and yet I miss reading some of the short witty saying some users have for their sig.

Lil jimmie, it could just be me but you just have a smilie face in your sig yet your sig space is pretty long.

I dunno Fastfly, I don't see your sig. I have sigs turned off as I stated above, but I checked my CP and all I have is the rolleye's smilie in my sig and nothing else so it might be an issue with vbulletin. I will double check my sig in few.

Fastfly, your sig is 280x70, well within the rules.
As far as the space that Jimmie's sig takes up, it seems to be that with this version of vBulletin, all posts take up a certain amount of screen space (although it does vary depending on your avatar, and length of your location). So not much can be done about that. The post will still take up the same amount of space, even without a signature. |
