Capcal

http://agent.capcal.com/ offer $0.30 dollars for every hour of work. I am pretty sure this is legitament but I was just wondering if anyone has done this or has opinions.

Interesting idea, however:
Quote:
The Agent software receives information that is sent out from our main web server. It then sends that same information, at timed intervals, to Web sites that Capacity Calibration is running tests against. While such a test is running, the Agent will send information about the test to our main servers for analysis.
What exactly are these "tests"?

Not giving it a full explaination leads me to believe they may possibly turn your computer into a spyware node.

Ah, so they are basically a "stress test" service for your server(s). Interesting...

It is not to good to be true. They running a business off your computer. Who would let that happen to their computer if your not getting paid for it.

Assuming 100% uptime, that would be be about $200/month... That would almost pay for my textbooks.

If anybody has done this/is planning to do it/knows anyone who has done it, post about how it goes. I could sure use the money, but I'm not sure I'd like to jump right in without some review of it first...

CapCal payments

I've been on Capcal's reward scheme for about 18 months. The maximum payout I've had has been about US$1 a month, and in recent months 0.00 Over 18 months I've probably received about US$10 from them!

My firewall tells me that they access my PC for less than a second at a time. I've had no problems with their system, especially as the PC has to be on line 24/7.

I've found that filling in survey reports brings better rewards than CapCal. My "pocket money" from these - sometime paid in vouchers exchangeable in local shops, sometimes by cheque, sometimes with Amazon credits, runs at about UK£10 - £15 a month. There's no way I'd ever reach figures like that with CapCal, so, seeing as Dec 2004 looks like being another 0.00 month with them, I intend "pulling the plug" on them after Christmas.

does it use 100% of the cpu when they do use the system? if not (and even if they do its only a few min. at tops) then i'll do it. it wont hurt F@H enought to notice and getting paid for nothing, even a few $ or so, every little bit adds up.

Are there any survey services that you use that seem like a pretty good deal?
