Pissed agh

i downloaded a wu, had it almost done but my computer was shut off. i turned it back on and the wu wasnt there anymore. and i had to go download a new one, almost done again and the computer gets shut off, to move it and, again its not there. its never done this before, why is it doing it now. i even tried to get a genome wu and get 10 at a time and it did the same thing when i shut it off. anyone had this problem before and if so did you fix it?

Have you checked the log file for any errors? What version of the client are you running? And are you checking the status right away? Remember that the WU has to take a bit of time after a reboot to load up the progress, and resume folding.

i already did that, and it says benchmarking and then it says trying to get work packet and then it gets another one and i shut the computer off and it does the same thing. i just installed the newest client version, and its been doing this. it does it only on this system not any other one i have it on.

Which OS and which client version are you using? WinXP will stop your folding for you when you shut down. Win98 using the GUI will also, but you must manually stop the console version before shutting down under Win98. Failure to do so can cause the WU to get wiped.

You can open the FAHlog.txt file in your Folding folder and see what it says the last few times the program stopped or started. It should list any errors it encountered. Post the pertinent areas here.

ok

i have windows xp, and i had the client version on it before but my mom took it off. so i redownloaded it and it started doing this. im not on my computer right now so i cant give the log file errors. i think it says something like improper shutdown, or something like that.
