faulty work unit
why did this happen?

According to some of the threads I found on the F@H forums, this could be caused by memory, a shutdown, or some sort of HD problem. Try running something like Memtest86 to check your memory, and maybe a chkdsk for the HD. You may also try deleting and redownloading the core to see if that helps.
