One WU
I'm getting about a third of a WU done per day - is this about the right speed? Having started not long ago, I'm not too familiar with F@H and stuff - I do have the PC Mech number as the registered team though.

it all depends on the WU you may get some that will get done in a day and some that take up to a week to finish!

I'm getting about 270/400 here and one frame about every 10 minutes.

you can download EMIII to monitor the client. this will tell you when the WU was started, when it will finish, how long per WU and more.....
but like i said, the time all depends on what WU you get. |

It all depends on the protein. Some take longer to fold than others. You will notice that some may take only a few minutes per step while others take 10, 15, 20 minutes.
Also, what client are you running? Running it as a service *seems* to make it a bit faster, with the text console next, then the GUI, then the screensaver. And if you are running the GUI, I would suggest you switch to the console versions (which is also used to run F@H as a service). The GUI seems to cause more problems than it's worth. |

I'm running GUI - I have 284/400 done and it seems to be progressing nicely.

The WUs that move upward in frames (usually to 400) are Tinker cores. They can take a bit longer to complete. The ones that work in steps (up to 100) are Gromacs or Double Gromacs cores. As mentioned, they come in a variety of sizes.
I agree with both Eric and bigandy, get EMIII to monitor (it gives you much more info on your progress) and switch to the Text Console. You can add EMIII anytime. You can also switch clients without losing work as long as you don't delete any files in your F@H folder other than the .exe one. If you'd rather be on the safe side, you may want to wait until a WU is complete before the switch. Happy Folding!

I completed the Tinker Core, then completed a Gromac core in a matter or hours. Then onto Tinker Core again...
Thanks to all. kram |
