Get your F@H Signature Image

Hey all,
Well, bigandy has inspired me to post a few images for public enjoyment. I created some images that can be used in your signature if you want them (they represent F@H and PC Mech).

Visit THIS PAGE for a preview of the images and use the URLs next to the images to link in your sig. If you need any help with this, feel free to ask.

Also, if anyone has an idea for another highlight graphic (the little icon in the top right corner of the images), I'm happy to do a few more. Just make sure your suggestion is something that several people may like (i.e. not a picture of your dog!!). I would like to have enough variety that lots of people use them. Not so everyone can see my images, but to spread the word about F@H with something that catches your eye.

Hope you enjoy,
Stryker

Thank you, Stryker. Very nice, very tasteful. I would encourage all members currently using the big rectangular banners to switch to one of these, the big ones are a bit too much "in your face" although they do comply with the forum signature image rules. We are concerned with signatures taking up too much vertical real estate in posts, causing thread lengths to grow unnecessarily. We also encourage people to use the size=1 font tags for verbage in their sigs for this reason. A signature is supposed to be a "tag line", not something that takes up more space than the post itself.

wow nice job stryker, look awsome.

an nvidia/ati graphic would be really cool. Also maybe just the little f@H red gear logo would be cool.

thanks stryker, once again nice job

I know I already told you via PM Stryker, but these are some great sigs. Thanks again for the avatar.

And like glc, I also encourage the use of these sigs rather than my larger (and ugly) boxes.

More Signature Images Added...

Ok... ask and ye shall receive.
I have added an ati and an nvidia logo version (good ideas), but netnamakan, I'm not sure which f@h logo you mean. I don't think I've seen it but if you have a reference (URL or post it up here) I'd be glad to add it as well.

New ones are added to the SAME PAGE the others are on. I also added some other logos (Apple & Logitech) and a few flags in but if I've forgotten any obvious ones, please let me know. I think I got the places of residence that I see at PC Mech, but I may have missed one.

...and by the way, thanks for the compliments guys. Like I say, I don't need fame and fortune, just want to help spread the word.

Later folks,
Stryker

Edit: forgot to mention, I'm using an image hosting service for this that a friend recommended. I don't know much about it but he said it's good so I would appreciate if anyone sees anything unstable (i.e. having to refresh the page for your images to appear or something), please let me know and I may change locations. Thanks again.

nice work stryker , exactly what i had in mind.

for the F@H logo, its not really a gear technically but I think its supposed to represent a protien.a picture is attached.
Its used as the icon, and it is the icon in system tray for the graphical version.

thanks again

Don't be so hard on yourself, andy. I really like the original boxes you did. That's what started this, and it's gone a long way in promoting F@H.

Stryker, well done. glc said it perfectly, "very nice, very tasteful."

Yeah, c'mon andy. That's like saying you don't like the original Star Trek!!!

I have now added a couple of F@H oriented images (thanks for the idea netnamakan) so feel free to take a look (SAME LOCATION).

Inserting Signature Image Without Border

Hey Folks,

I have seen in a couple of instances where people have used the images but they have borders around them due to the active link (it's a style set on PC Mech). If you want, there is an easy way to get rid of this border (if you like the border, by all means keep it... just an FYI).

If you want it without border:
HTML Code:
<a href="http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=71257"><img src="__________.gif" style="border: 0px;"></a>
If you want to control alignment on the page (default is left):
HTML Code:
<div align="center"><a href="http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=71257"><img src="__________.gif" style="border: 0px;"></a></div>
Basically all you're doing is adding the ---- style="border: 0px;" ----, which tells it to make the border 0 pixels wide.
Hope this helps out a bit. Let me know if anyone has any questions.
Thanks,
Stryker

Stryker's sigs are popping up everywhere. I think it's really great how he spent the time to customize them, as well.

Gottcha... you are very welcome!
I'm a little slow, although that was a tad obscure.

Yeah it's pretty cool to see them appearing in peoples signatures. I'm glad they're getting circulated and hopefully they will get some other folding on the PC Mech team.

And keep checking back here... I'm working on an animated version of a couple of them. (a hush falls over the crowd)

Thanks guys,
Stryker

Great work - I really like them. Now I can get F@H and Firefox in one image in my sig, no need to clutter it up with much (I don't like to put much more than an image in my sig - it takes up too much space.) Maybe a version of the image to go on the f@h stats page would be good, the current one is the box image, which is very good as well but it seems no one is using it anymore so is not exactly the 'image' of our team.

Actually I just looked at the team stats page and the image at the top is a broken link.
I don't know who maintains that, but someone must have moved the image or something.

Edit: here LOOK ... am I the only one seeing it broken?

I find that happens from time to time, even more reason for a new one (or just one of the sig ones you made will do).

Perhaps I will play around with a couple ideas for a customized version for that page. Seems to me a little larger would be better for that header.

I'll do something up and post it here. Hopefully the person who maintains that image/page will see it.

Thanks WTBF,
Stryker

Proposed F@H Team Page Header

So... as promised, here's an idea for the F@H Team page header.

It looks better on a white background so HERE is a sample screen at the top of the team page to give you an idea of what it would look like. Comments, ideas, critiques (I can take it).

By the way, there is now an animated sig image on the usual page but I won't do too many of these (it's near the bottom). They are a little more heafty in file size and I don't want to slow down page loading.

Just thought I could say thank you so much for the effort that you put into creating these images. I think they are absolutely wonderful and I am so happy to see how they have spread throughout PC-Mech! Thanks again Stryker!

AK

P.S. When I edited my old sig I used yours as my model!!! I liked the way it didnt take up so much space when having the image on the bottom of my sig with so much emtpy, un-used space around it! So thanks again!!!

Hey thanks AK,
You are very welcome! Glad you like my stuff and your sig looks great.

I just wish someone knew who had access to the Team Logo image on the F@H team page. I'm still seeing it as a broken link no matter how many times I refresh so I don't think it's just my system. Just want to get a logo up there, even if it isn't one of mine.

When Big_Andy's image was added to the top it was Scott_d I think that had acess to the team details. There was talk of changing it to Kov-Ice or Lil Jimmie but I do not know if the leadership changed from Scott_d.

Thanks WTBF,
I saw the page where it can be changed, but I don't have the password or anything (which makes it rather diffictult to login).

I just heard back from Jimmie today. He said Scott_d was the original founder who had it, but he didn't know who currently was in possession. Not him or me. F_F will come through.

When the last image was changed the last time, I contacted David through IM and he told me that Scottd was the original founder of the team and he has/had the password. David was kinda acting as team leader I guess you could say.
