Download the latest core create two folders and name them FAH1 & FAH2 drop the core into both folders start one up and follow the config settings, you will be prompted to run it as a service just be sure to label one "machine 1" and the other "machine 2" when prompted. The next time the PC is started the folding will run as a service, to verify check the task manager to see that they are running.

Not really sure what the deal maybe, I know in the past there were WU's that would have the same behavior with HT'ing after some time Stanford pulled those off the servers.

Yeah, it was weird. The CPU kept going from 50% to 100% as the second core went on and off. It works great now, after I restarted the computer. Thanks a lot for your help. |

Couple questions:
Is there any way to control or chose which size WUs I get? Like how many frames. What is the time it usually takes to complete one WU or 2 WUs on a comp with HT? Thanks guys. |

Nope, the WU's more or less get assigned randomly within the specific set of proteins they are working on at the time.
WU's take anywhere from 1-10 days depending on the WU's weight, and CPU speed. I've gotten a few WU's that had a high number of frames, but actually didn't take that long.

I keep getting 100 frame WUs and they take a few days but I used to get the 10,000 and 25,000 or even the 2,500 frame units only took like 5 hours. Interesting. |

With the 5.02 core there is the option for the "big packets", but I'm not sure of the difference in WU's as far as time/frames/points goes.

all i know about the big packets are that they take longer and use a lot of RAM. i started one once, just to see and about a day after i got it my system crashed. i want to try them again and see what the difference is, if any.

I can't say I had any problems with it at all. It was on an Athlon XP 2600+ with 256 mb of RAM. It would be cool if we could select which kind we wanted but that might not work so well cuz there might be some that never get picked. Or we could set a preference and if it's available, we would get it. Oh well, not that important. |

Well I've got 2 machines running the big packets and they have been fine thus far, one has a 512mb stick of Kingston Value Ram with a 2.6C and the other a 512mb of Mushkin with a 2.8E, but they do take awhile.
There are those who will watch the WU's and delete the WU in hopes of getting the one's they prefer, but it's frowned upon and to me a waste of time for the objective we all should be focused on. |

I agree, that is a waste of time.
