Oh, sure N8... Sit idle for a year until I've almost caught you, and then take off again. I see how you are. Very funny.

Can we look forward to some of those pre-idle numbers you were putting up for a while?

Probably not. I don't have access to that kind of processor power anymore. I kind of wish I could, but life changes. I'm sure you'll still pass me in a short time.

Honestly, I hope I don't pass you up. That would mean more research being done, which is a good thing! Glad to see you are staying involved.

Sunset just had his first milestone: his first WU is complete on Sunday night!

Estimates are showing a projected average of one WU per day. If my new duo core desktop arrives this week as planned, I ought to be able to increase the processing time a fair bit over my current AMD Turion laptop at 2.19 GZ. The new desktop is an Intel Core Duo Processor T2400, 2 GB RAM. Who knows, maybe I will run both F@H on both machines?

Congrats to everyone! Just because you only have 1 ot 2 systems folding doesn't mean your not helping! It all helps.

That C2D system your getting, Sunset, should fold VERY well. Most people are getting around 600 ppd (points per day) with them!

Thanks. How does one estimate ppd based on one or two WU's? How are points calculated, exactly?

Its hard to estimate with only a few WUs, but programs such as EMIII can give this info.

download here: http://home.comcast.net/~wxdude1/emsite/download.html

as far as how points are calculated, its up to Stanford to do that, some are worth more than others. I dont really know how they come up with the points.

OK, I found the system status bar on my FAH icon (right click), so I can now check points.

Belated thanks for recognizing my emergence into the 400K club.

Trying to add another box. It has Linux. If I can get it to fold trustworthy, should push the points on up.

I just added a Pentium D 915 2.8GHz x 2 and it's folding very well. So I think now I have a Pentium D 915, Pentium 4 2.66Ghz, and an Athlon 2600+. Hopefully I can get those school computers too.

Hey all, joined up a few days ago. Just finished my first WU (Gromac Core 20,000 whatever). Still trying to figure out what all of the acronyms are. But doing my part. Still waiting for my name to show up on the team roster. I'm here nonetheless.

I'm processing my first WU, and I've calculated that it will take 16.98 YEARS to match the 900K level. . how are you guys jacking the numbers?

flanzig is right, I'm running Folding on 18 pc's plus one new one I'm load testing. 4 of the 18 are dual core or Hyper Threading and I'm running two Console installs on each. That gives me 22 cpu's folding plus the one in test mode. If you take a look at the total Work Units completed by Mystery_Folder (me) and compare that total to enhanced08's total, you'll notice he has completed a lot more wu's for about the same total points. That just means my machines have been assigned higher point wu's.
