who wants a good challenge?

i've got one for both current folders and any newcomers. This is our stats from stanford as of 11:45AM July 8th 2005.

Date of last work unit 2005-07-08 08:07:47
Active CPUs within 50 days 280
Team Id 13761
Grand Score 5221182 (certificate)
Work Unit Count 61007 (certificate)
Team Ranking (incl. aggregate) 66 of 38974

do you think we can get to 300+ active cpus by the middle of August? i would say the end of august but about the 20th is when school is back and all the machines i setup will be turned on and that will messup things. i know a lot of people shutdown for the summer due to heat but i think we can get 20 cpus. tell your friends, family, guys you meet on the street lol, tell them to fold, tell them why, send some videos. i think we can do it....

happy folding!

Got a new build in progress. Hope it will take up the slack from my 2700XP. It's been locking up on certain units.

I have two older but still good PCs that just need a few things here and there then I can start folding with them.

Excellent. I will be getting a laptop for school, but I'm not sure exactly when I'll be purchasing it, so I may or may not be adding another CPU to the team.

Got a rig of mine back online yesterday, just finished a work unit. We had a damaging house fire last month and I lost my overclocking rig and the new one I had just finished. Still replacing the necessities right now as money has gotten tight, but put together a rig out of spare parts. Still have our small pc for everything else, but it takes way too long to fold.

Oh man I'm sorry to hear that! I hope no one got hurt and all family and pets made it out. My family lost our house and everything in it when I was a teen, 23 years later I can still smell the smoke and soot.

Thankfully, no one was home. I wish I could have been there though, could have probably gotten things out quicker and had less damage. We only lost my two rigs, a customer's rig, a bed and a couch. Lots of smoke damage though.

Well, the fire marshall ruled that my new rig was the cause of the problem . Funny thing about that though, there was no power supply in it yet. He is not changing his findings since there was no involvement with an insurance company and we are absorbing the costs.

That is scary, but I'm just glad to hear that no one was hurt. I'm sorry that you lost so much due to the damage (and I don't just mean the computers). I wish you and your family the best.
